Lyrics and melody by

Mark Rickerby
Written from the heart by a wonderful poet, song, story writer and singer.  Mark shows his deep love of his country, his heartfelt respect for our military in his wonderful songs and he wanted to bring more awareness to the plight of so many who have served.  They return home and live lives fraught with danger they couldn't leave behind.

In Mark's Own words;

"I have been a member of the Patriot Guard Riders for a few years and recently recorded the vocals for a theme song. The PGR supports soldiers by attending deployments and welcome home's. They also support soldiers' families by making a presence at and protecting the sanctity of the funerals of fallen soldiers.

I wrote this song when I learned from my friend and PGR Ride Captain, Chuck Johnson, that the soldier suicide rate is currently higher than it was during the Vietnam war. I hope it encourages public support, during and after tours of duty, for the people who put their lives on the line for us. Thanks for listening."
